World's largest timepiece event organised by the HKTDC, Hong Kong Watch Manufacturers Association Ltd., and The Federation of Hong Kong Watch Trades and Industries Ltd..

The perfect time, the perfect place

Look at this from a buyer's point of view for a moment. For a buyer, size matters. The most successful sourcing expedition is the one which offers the greatest range of choice. Which is why buyers flock to the largest watch and clock event - the HKTDC Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair.

The numbers tell the story. In 2009, the fair featured 708 exhibitors from 17 countries and regions.

If you are a manufacturer or agent for complete watches and clocks or a supplier of parts, components, equipment and machinery, the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair is the place to be. The fair also provides a platform for packaging and display items, retail supplies & technologies, and trade related services and organisations.

Premium zone for timeless products

The 2009 edition inaugurated the Pageant of Eternity. This new zone, in Hall 1, is designed to highlight the beauty and craftsmanship of watches at the high end of the spectrum. Raw space and deluxe booth exhibitors who are offering outstanding timepieces for the discerning few are fittingly housed in an exclusive area with handsome decor and appointments.

Industry highlights

The global watch industry will be represented by key industry players and association heads whose influential voices will be heard in the Hong Kong International Watch Forum which made its debut in 2009.

The speaker at the Asian Watch Conference will be an industry identity who is a powerful voice in the market and who crosses new frontiers in terms of watch design, brand building and manufacture.

For the 27th Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition, finalists' entries will be displayed during the fair period, bringing fresh ideas and challenging design to the industry.

Return of the Big Band

For over a decade, Brand Name Gallery, a centrepiece of the fair, has provided an attractive setting for fashionable timepieces by top brands. Over 100 brands from 13 countries and regions were showcased in Brand Name Gallery at the 2009 fair. The Gallery encompasses all kinds of branded watches and clocks. Exhibitors of ultra-fashionable, trendy models, technologically advanced sports accessories, or the most elegant and sophisticated timepieces all find the right environment here.

In 2010, once again exhibitors may participate in the fashion parades through the Gallery, in which live models show products to the buyers.

At the 2009 fair, Brand Name Gallery was opened up to raw space exhibitors for the first time. The result was a dynamic and exciting 'streetscape' with brands vying with each other in terms of booth design. Brand recognition was enhanced by the individuality of the raw space booths. This option is offered again in 2010.

This is doubly important as the public are now invited to enter the Gallery on the last day of the fair. With this marketing tool, exhibitors can give consumers a preview of new collections and receive direct feedback.

Hong Kong-- The Gateway to the Chinese mainland Market

The Chinese mianland is an important market in its own right, which has been growing by leaps and bounds in the past decade. Not only are incomes rising, but people are also becoming more and more aspirational and desiring better quality, well-designed products. As other markets stagnate or even shrink, suppliers can find new opportunities in the mainland Ruper Steiner, writing in the UK's Daily Mail, notes, "Firms best-equipped to weather the financial downturn are those in diverse markets that include China..." However, China's size and diversity can be daunting for overseas companines, but Hong Kong offers the perfect stepping stone into this market. Participation in HKTDC exhibitions not only puts you into direct contact with buyers from the mainland, but it also enables contacts with Hong Kong companies with expertise in the Chinese mainland market.
